Aster didn't know why his master had come to the beach. He'd rather take a nap in the forest, but at least the sun was bright. He never trusted the ocean much due to its push and pulls that would most likely render him helpless. Watching the water suspiciously, Aster followed his master as she took off her boots. "Aster, we have a new friend today! It's time we meet her and take a day off to just play!" Ariel said holding out a new PokeBall. Aster only tilted his head in confusion and wondered who this new Pokemon was. He didn't have to wait long as Ariel threw Pokeball up and Aster was shocked to find a round blue Pokemon pop out of the blinding light. "Spheal!!" It cried out. It gave a yawn and then looked around its surroundings. Once it was satisfied that there was nothing that she had to worry about turned back to Ariel and Aster. Ariel smiled brightly and crouched down as low as she could so that she could be somewhat eye level with it. "Hi! I'm Ariel, I hope we can be friends. You need a name so we don't mix you up, huh? How.. about.. Crystal? That reminds me of ice.." Ariel said said thinking. She wasn't particularly creative with names but figured it was okay since Aster had agreed to his name. Though she'd taken two days to think of it... "Sph! Sph! Spheal!" Crystal, the newly named Spheal, jumped into the air for joy and started rolling towards the water. Mentioning for Ariel to follow. Ariel smiled and took off towards the water with a shout for joy. Today was a day where she wouldn't stress about anything, just have fun! .

Although beaches and sun-drenched shores weren't generally the kinds of places that Lorelei liked to explore, she couldn't resist, just this once. The day was particularly hot, and the sun beating down on them probably would have kept Lorelei indoors if she hadn't remembered that there was a beach of the Ledom Academy Grounds. And what a beautiful beach it was!

Lorelei was definitely dressed for the occasion. She had on a two-piece swimming suit, colored purple with some black, lace-like designs on it. Her blue hair was up in two piggytail-braids, so that it would stay out of her way as she played in the water.

She walked up to the edge of the water and stopped, letting the cold liquid lap at her feet. She looked around, and a girl with her two Pokemon- a Spheal and a Bulbasaur- caught her attention. She smiled as she watched them play. 'Those two Pokemon are so cute!' She thought. 'I kinda wish I had a water Pokemon. Or any Pokemon that could play in the water with me.'

None of her three Pokemon were really suited for the beach. Her Spoink would have trouble swimming. She definitely wasn't built for that. Her Deerling could swim, but she wouldn't exactly be able to play much in the deeper parts. And her Makuhita... well, he was kind of afraid of deep water.

But instead of just standing there and wallowing in jealousy and self-pity, Lorelei decided she would just go make some friends! She walked over to the girl and her two Pokemon, and smiled happily at them. She looked at each of them in turn. The girl and the Spheal were the ones that were enjoying the water the most. The Bulbasaur seemed kind of suspicious of it.

"Hi! I'm Lorelei." She introduced herself, walking forward until the water was at her knees.

Aster saw a blue haired girl appear. The Bulbasaur didn't know who the girl was, as he'd never seen her before, but since she was here he supposed she was a student. Looking toward Ariel and the new Spheal, Aster figured he'd just let it by and slowly got up and walked over to the girl and followed her to the ocean. When the new girl walked into the water Aster frowned down at the water and sat down and splashed at it with one of his feet. Ariel turned around when she heard a girls voice. She saw a girl dressed in a swim suit introduce herself as Lorelei. Ariel smiled and tucked her hair behind her ear as she held out one of her dry hands. "Oh! Hi! I'm Ariel Sullivan. I major as a Coordinator. Nice to meet you!" Ariel said with a bright smile. The girl seemed nice, and Ariel secretly wished she'd dressed somewhat like the girl. Instead of a swim suit Ariel had dressed in a plain white tank top and brown shorts. Crystal swam/waddled over to Lorelei and smiled up at her. With a few minutes of that Crystal went over to Aster and started playing with the green Pokemon. Ariel smiled and rubbed the back of her head. "Aster is the one who is untrusting of the water, and Crystal is our newest friend over there. I think she may have ADHD though..." Ariel said with a small laugh as she pulled her hair back into a single ponytail, both white flowers in place on each side of her head. Ariel felt the sun shine on her back and wished for a moment she would have brought sun screen, but she'd left her bag in her room. Apparently she wasn't much of a survivalist. Ariel just hoped she didn't get sunburnt. .

Lorelei immediately took a liking to this girl. She was happy and kind, which was quite different from the other girls she had met so far. "Its nice to meet you, too, Ariel! I am majoring in Training, but to be honest, I like to dabble in breeding and coordinating, too. Its all so fun and interesting!" She explained. She had a feeling she might start rambling if she wasn't careful... but it was just so nice to have someone to talk to!

She watched as the Spheal waddled over to her, smiled, and then waddled over to the Bulbasaur. She nodded as the two Pokemon were introduced to her, cementing their names in her brain. "I just can't get over how cute they are!" She commented with that same smile. She just couldn't take that smile off her face- not that she really wanted to.

Then Lorelei turned back to face Ariel. "My Pokemon are kind of like your Aster. They wouldn't really work well with all this water. They're not exactly big on swimming." She explained with a chuckle. "I'd let them out and introduce them to you, but... I left them back at the dorm. Which actually might not have been a very smart thing, now that I'm thinking about it... Oh well. It would have been crowded here anyways! And noisy... I have one very noisy Pokemon."

She realized she was rambling, and grinned sheepishly. "Oops. Sorry, I don't usually go on and on like this. Its just been a while since I've actually been able to find someone nice enough to talk to. You wouldn't believe the kind of people I've run into while I've been here." She said, sitting down in the water with a sigh.

Ariel wondered for a minute how it would be like to be a training major. Maybe that could help her with her contests for Aster and Crystal. Looking over, Ariel couldn't help but wonder. Putting on a mischievious smile, Ariel looked towards Lorelei. "Hey, maybe I could help you with some Coordinating tips and you could help me with some training tips! What do you think?" Ariel said sitting down in the water and relaxing for a moment. The water felt great against the suns hot and harmful rays. Lorelei mentioned something about Aster and Crystal's cuteness and Ariel gave a laugh. "Thanks. I think they're adorable myself. I'm sure you have some adorable Pokemon yourself." Ariel said with a bright smile. She wondered what kind of people Lorelei had met so far. "Hey, don't worry about it! I do the same thing! That's one reason I'm glad Aster can't talk. I always end up blabbing too him and he already knows all of my secrets." Ariel said with a laugh. Apparently Aster was boring the Crystal since he refused to come in the water and play, so the Spheal swam - or swam as much as the round thing could- toward Ariel and Lorelei, hoping they would play with her. So saying the Spheal started to headbutt Lorelei's arm giving her a hopeful look. .

When Ariel suggested swapping tips and advice relative to their different majors, Lorelei nodded. "Of course! I'm sure that there's quite a bit that we could learn from each other." She eagerly agreed, sitting down as well. She loved the feeling of the cold water washing over her sun-heated skin. She sighed softly in pleasure, closing her eyes for a moment, but opened them again as soon as Ariel continued the conversation.

"Yeah, I have to cute Pokemon- a Spoink and a Deerling. The Spoink is super loud though, so sometimes its hard to see the cute! The Deerling is a real sweetheart, though." Lorelei explained with a smile. She loved her Pokemon, and now wished that she had brought them with her.

"Yeah, and my Deerling is the same way for me as your Aster is to you. I always confide in Ellie- that's her name. She never gets tired of listening. Its a real blessing for me to have her!" Lorelei said, happy for the opportunity to praise and brag about her darling Ellie.

She might have said more, but then Ariel's Spheal came over to her, acting all playful. She grinned as Crystal bumped her arm, and then drew the Spheal close to her in something kind of like a hug. "Is Crystal ticklish?" Lorelei asked Ariel, turning the round Pokemon over a bit and attempting to gently tickle Crystal's side.

When Lorelei started talking about her Pokemon Ariel turned her head with interest. She loved hearing about different kinds of Pokemon. It always facinated her because she was only familiar with Johto, Kanto, and Sinnoh Pokemon. Any other species were a whole different world than what she was used to. " Aw. How cute. We should get them all together sometime and let them meet each other. Ellie sounds like wonderful Pokemon. I'm not sure I'm familiar with Deerlings but she sounds wonderful." Ariel said looking up at the cloudless sky. She looked over at Crystal, who was now being held by Lorelei who asked if the Spheal was tickilish. "I really don't know. Today is the first time we've really met." Ariel said as she tried tickling the Spheal. Crystal reacted by giving off a sort of laugh and rolling around. "Oh, yeah, I guess she is tickilish!" Ariel said with a laugh as she got up for a minute to walk to the shore. She held out her arms for Aster and the Bulbasaur looked at her skeptically for a minute, but then he walked towards her and let himself be picked up and carried to where Lorelei and Crystal were sitting. "Bulba, Bulba..." Aster said, his red eyes looking skeptically in the clear water. "You'll be fine, Aster, I promise." Ariel said as she sat back down. The Bulbasaur looked up at Ariel and nodded. If there was one thing, Aster knew that if he couldn't trust Ariel, he wouldn't be able to trust anyone. This new girl he wasn't sure about... Extending one of Aster's vines, he held it out like a hand. This was his way of greeting people, he wondered if the girl understood.

Lorelei nodded enthusiastically as Ariel suggested that they all get together. "That would be great. And, I wasn't familiar with the Deerling species until I got Ellie. I'm not really good with Pokemon that originate from the Unova region. But I'm learning." She said, remembering the guy she met- William Lyell, or something along those lines- and his offer to tutor her. "I got lucky, and found a tutor. Quite by accident."

Lorelei giggled when the Spheal laughed- it was an involuntary reaction. She was just so enthralled with Ariel's two Pokemon! She looked up and smiled at Ariel and Aster as the girl carried the Bulbasaur into the water. When the Bulbasaur stretched out a vine towards her, she blinked and a confused look crossed her face. But after a moment, she figured it out.

Lorelei's smile returned, and she reached out one of her arms, keeping the other wrapped gently around Crystal. She wasn't sure what to do, exactly, so she just slightly touched the outstretched vine with her palm. Her smile widened slightly.

Her father had always tried to teach her. Maybe she should've listened as a kid. "Yeah, I come from the Johto region so we're most familiar with the Johto and Kanto Pokemon. A mentor sounds like a good idea. I wonder if our classes will involve much of the Unova Pokemon." Ariel said rubbing the back of her head. If they did, she might have to get to the library and the field more often. When Ariel finally figured out of Aster was trying to do, a bright surprised look crossed her face. The Bulbasaur had a bright happy look on his face as he withdrew his vine. Ariel looked down at him with a puzzled look on her face. "Aster, you really are a complex Pokemon arn't you?" Ariel asked with a laugh. Aster only lifted his head up and in a dignified manner as if he was saying 'Why, yes I am.' Ariel laughed and looked towards Lorelei. "Sorry, he always seems to have his own way of doing things even I have a hard time understanding them. As if to second that opinion Crystal cave out a loud 'Sph-Spheal!" Ariel laughed as Aster narrowed his eyes at the little Pokemon.

"Well, if they find out that we're unfamiliar with them, the teachers will probably try and pound them into our heads. We'll definitely be doing a lot of studying." Lorelei said thoughtfully. "Which will be good, I guess, but painful." She added after a moment's consideration. 'I'm definitely glad that I have Will to help me.' She thought. "If you'd like, once Will- my tutor- starts teaching me, I can rely his lessons to you!" She offered cheerfully. The idea made her happy.

Then she looked back to Aster as Ariel started talking to him, calling him dignified. Then she laughed slightly at Aster's response and expression. "Hehe, its fine. I guess he'll keep you on your toes, yeah?" Lorelei said with another chuckle as Crystal shouted out in what might've been agreement with Ariel's statement.

"...So," Lorelei said, searching her brain for a conversation topic, "Have you met you're roommate yet?"

Ariel perked her head up when Lorelei suggested that she relay her tutor's lessons onto Ariel. "Yeah! That sounds wonderful! That would help me out so much, Lorelei!" Ariel said with a cheerful expression. Aster and Spheal nodded at Ariel's smile and Aster decided that since his master was smiling so much that this Lorelei must be okay. The conversation ended to a surprising halt and Ariel figured out that they had to think of a new topic. Right as Ariel was going to think of something Lorelei asked if Ariel had met her roommate yet. "No, I'm afraid not. I might've missed her while I was out and about, or she just hasn't come yet. Either way I can't wait to meet her. What about you? Have you met your room mate yet?" Ariel asked tilting her head to the side with a quizitive smile. .

"Yeah, I have. Her name is Giselle Marks. I'm not really sure what to think of her... For one reason or another, she hates my sense of fashion. She'll all about designer clothes and all that jazz. She's definitely not as bad as my neighbor Ammy, though! I don't know why exactly, but Ammy hates me. Two minutes after she first saw me, she challenged me to a battle. And it wasn't your average friendly battle. She's just... not that nice. Ugh." Lorelei rambled, and then heaved a huge sigh when she had finished. "I have a feeling I won't be spending too much time in Ho-Oh hall." She added with a slight smile.

"Its not all bad, though. I've met some nice people. Will, my tutor, and you! So this year will be bearable, at least!" Lorelei said, trying to be optimistic.
