There was no way for Mack to dodge Knight's next scratch attack- he just wasn't a quick Pokemon. For the most part, he just had to take the attacks as they came, and hope he could survive them. He was beginning to get a bit weak, though- the Pawniard's boosted attack was certainly not good for the Makuhita. However, he wasn't out of the fight yet. Oh, definitely not.
"Maku!" He roared, somewhat angry that he kept getting scratched. Lorelei sense her Pokemon's emotions, and decided it was now or never. Her Pokemon was getting weak and getting angry. Might as well make the final push now. She decided to share her thoughts with Mack. "Okay, Mack! Its now or never. Give it all you got! Get 'em!" She called out.
Yes! He had Lorelei's permission to attempt to pummel the Pawniard! His anger morphed into enthusiasm and determination. He ran at the Pawniard, attempting to tackle the heck out of it. After that attack- whether it hit or missed- he caught his breath and then immediately went in for a second tackle attack. Like Lorelei, Mack was under the impression that it was now or never.

Guaranteed to blow your mind….
Every time! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Will couldn’t believe that the Makuhita was taking such a beating, even if it did seem to have a strong bond with his trainer. He was visilbly getting weaker, but he wasn’t falling no matter how many times Knight scratched him. He was truly determined to win. Knight didn’t notice this aspect of the fighting-type, rather the Sharp Blade Pokemon only mistook it as some stupidity and assumed the Makuhita was a masochist. He watched as Mack closed in, confident that the Makuhita would fall before he even got to the proud Dark/Steel type. It didn’t, as Will could have predicted, and Knight was only barely able to get away from the first tackle.
However, Mack surprised him by getting up and going for a second tackle. In fact, it surprised Will as well, he would have expected the Makuhita to fall back after failing an attack. Looking at both the Pokemon and Lorelei, he could tell that both of them had put their all into this last attack. By the time had thought of a strategy, it was too late, as the Makuhita had landed a solid critical tackle on Knight. Knight was knocked down a few feet toward Will, the breeder looking down with unease toward his Pokemon. He was actually quite disappointed that all that tenacity seemed to go away.
“Where was the Pawniard I saw just a few moments ago? I seriously misread you if you’re going to go down to just that,” he said with a smirk as the Pawniard struggled to get up. Knight looked back to his trainer, and then at the Makuhita. He wasn’t going to be shown up, not now. He had worked too hard for this victory, he wouldn’t disappoint his master now. Pulling together all the energy he could, the Pawniard ran as fast as he could to the exhausted Mack, hoping to finish this all off with one Scratch attack.

When the Pawniard was hit by Mack's violent tackle, Lorelei was sure that he wouldn't get back up. But he did! Lorelei was impressed. Mack wasn't impressed, rather, he was shocked. And he didn't take too kindly to the fact that the Pawniard started running at him again with his blades ready to slice. So, Mack decided to take matters into his own hands... or, y'know, gloves. Whatever.
Instead of attempting to dodge, Mack ran straight at the Pawniard. If Mack was going to go down, he was going to try as hard as he could to bring Knight down with him. As soon as the Pawniard got close enough to strike Mack, the Makuhita leaped at forward and attempted to tackle Knight.
When Lorelei saw Mack start running towards Knight, Lorelei knew this wouldn't end well. She knew her Makuhita wouldn't be able to survive another hit. "Mack, you're insane!" She shouted out, but it didn't make a difference. She figured as much. "Oh, bother." Lorelei muttered, pulling out Mack's pokeball. She would let Mack finish this battle as he saw fit. Lorelei wouldn't interrupt if Mack felt like being somewhat suicidal in his battle.

Every time! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Will smirked as Knight kept on running toward Mack. He was thankful that his tactic to work with Knight’s overconfidence worked. It at least gave him some last legs in order for the two to duke it out for one last time. He was surprised, however, at how Mack kept on running toward Pawniard in order to get one more shot in. Both Pokemon were utterly determined to win. He found himself actually interested in which one would win the fight, who would prove themselves superior. He looked intently at the battle, wanting to know who would be the victor.
Knight had already decided that he would win no matter what. It didn’t matter how beat up he got in the process, the Dark/Steel type wouldn’t be put down by a fighting-type. It was his natural enemy, and he wasn’t about to lose to his natural enemy in front of his master. He couldn’t deal with that kind of blow to his pride, especially after how raring he was to fight. He eyed every movement of Mack, noticing every move that he made. As the Makuhita went in for one last tackle, Knight took the shot straight into his shoulder, if only to get one last clean Scratch in. He stumbled back a few feet after getting his with the tackle, barely managing to stand up. But Knight wouldn’t let himself be defeated in his first real battle. Even if he fainted a second after the Makuhita, that would be enough. Knight’s vision was getting blurrier by the second, and he felt himself falling to the ground. He hadn’t even checked how the Makuhita had fallen, but he hoped to Arceus he did. Knight fainted, completely sapped of energy.
“Knight, despite your hot-headedness, you did a good job. I’m proud,” Will said, being short and to the point as he always was, returning Knight to his Pokeball to rest. He looked at Soul, wondering if the Psychic had it in her to battle. Then he turned to Lorelei, seeing how she dealt with the aftermath of battle.

When the two Pokemon collided, Lorelei and Mack both knew that the Makuhita was done for. He didn't fall down immediately, mostly because instinct kept him up for as long as he was physically able to stand. He stumbled and swayed to the right, then he stumbled and swayed to the left, and then he stood still for a moment... and then he tumbled backwards, landing with a soft thump, only a few seconds before the Pawniard finally wavered and went down.
Lorelei smiled- or was it a smirk? Some mixture of the two- and then returned Mack to his pokeball. "Great battle, Mack." She said as the red light enveloped the Makuhita. 'I'm surprised he lasted that long, especially after the blunder with the Pawniard's ability- what was it called, again? Defiant? Yes, that was it.' She thought to herself, nodding ever so slightly.
Then Lorelei returned her gaze to Will. "That was great!" Lorelei stated, happy. "What do you think- should we continue, or call it quits?" She asked with a smile. Lorelei definitely wanted to continue the battle, of course- battling was her passion- but she wasn't sure if the breeder felt the same as she did, which was why she asked.
(I guess we'll call that one a win for your Pawniard and a lose for my Makuhita! I probably shouldn't have kept him going for so long, but battling is fun, so I couldn't resist!
Also, sorry that my posts have kind of been going downhill. Not sure where my muse is disappearing to. o_O)
