Lorelei wasn't generally a very unlucky girl, but it seemed that even she had to have a bout of bad luck every now and then... and now it was her turn to suffer.
She was lost. Totally and completely. And to make matters worse, the sun had just gone down, and it was almost completely dark. Only a few colorful rays of sun clung to the sky in the west, and because of the canopy of leaves, even those were very nearly invisible. To top it all off, it was going to get a bit chilly fairly quickly, and she definitely wasn't dressed for the cold. She was wearing a sundress, like usual- pink and brown- with a pair of knee-length leggings. And no shoes.
Lorelei was sitting on the ground, leaning back against a tree trunk. Her feet were slightly slightly sore from all the walking, but what really hurt was her legs. She wasn't out of shape, but she had been here, walking aimlessly around, all day long. She let out a long sigh and closed her eyes, thankful for the opportunity to rest her legs.
Her bag and a pokeball were laying on the ground beside her. She had just returned Mack, her Makuhita, to his ball. The fighting type was just as tired as she was, and as a matter of fact, he was a bit scared of the dark.
Lorelei wasn't too scared of the dark most of the time, but since she was in unfamiliar territory, she was a bit on edge. She was only able to keep her eyes closed for a couple of seconds before they snapped open again, worried that some strange pokemon or person might sneak up on her.

Evan and his two pokemon had ventured into the woods on an important mission: bonding. The boy identified the pathetically wimpy attitude of his Elekid as something that needed to be fixed. Soon. After all, how could he possibly be a good trainer with a creature that was scared of everything? His pokemon need to be brave.. strong.. and mostly, fun. Party-buddies. Crazy and wild. Attractors of the ladies. That sort of thing.
Yet he seemed to be stuck with the most insecure pokemon to ever exist. One of his friends had an answer for his dilemma. ”Why don’t you.. ya know, bond? Do some quiet fun stuff with your pokemon. Something he’ll like. Maybe he’ll trust you after a while, and loosen up.”
Genius. The perfect bonding activity? A picnic. Evan packed plenty of goodies into a basket the next morning, and trekked into the woods with his pokemon. Four hours later, they were still trekking. Evan had insisted that they needed to find the perfect place to eat. This resulted in an endless journey through the forest, his exhausted pokemon groaning the entire way.
Finally, they found clearing. A trickling creek cut through the unkempt weeds, and the scene was sprinkled with half a dozen kinds of wildflowers. Evan declared it worthy, and the trio spent the afternoon munching on junk food and listening to Evan talk.
Evan babbled on and on, entirely unaware that the day was coming to an end. Arty was becoming increasingly nervous. The forest was scary enough in the daytime. But at night? He trembled. He needed to leave now. The Elekid urgently pointed up at the sky, hoping his trainer would understand.
Evan followed his pokemon's gesture. He studied the sky for a moment, before the meaning finally sunk in. "Oh. Crap. It's getting pretty late, isn't it?" He frowned briefly. "I'm sorry Arty. Ah, god, you sure hate the dark." To be honest, he wasn't entirely fond of it either. Not in a forest, anyway, when he'd have to navigate their way back home. Evan was slowly realizing that perhaps his "let's wing it" approach wasn't the safest way to go about venturing into the woods.
He stuffed the picnic supplies back into the basket and patted Arty on the head. In situations like this, being able to store Arty in his pokeball would have been helpful, but he was terrified of the thing. If only the littlebitty Elekid hadn't weighed fifty pounds or so..
It wasn't long before the trio were all exhausted. Evan stopped, stretching. "Alright, just a moment's break, then lets get goin' again." He started to distribute juice boxes to his pokemon, when he thought he saw movement behind his Staryu. He peered into the darkness, studying what seemed to be something at the base of a distant tree.. A pokemon? Maybe. He gestured for his friends to follow, then curiously took a few steps forward.
He still couldn't see it.. but if it was a pokemon, he'd surely want to catch it. That's what trainers were supposed to do, right? Of course, generally you'd weaken the pokemon first, but.. Maybe if it was unaware he could capture it without all that hassle. Evan reached for a spare pokeball in his bag and chunked the sphere at the "pokemon", entirely unaware that the thing his pokeball was flying towards was actually a human girl.
ooc: sorry, so long. :P

A few moments after she had opened her eyes had snapped open, she heard a voice. It actually sounded somewhat close. It sounded like... a guy. Yeah, it was a guy's voice, but she couldn't make out what he was saying. And she couldn't really see anything. She leaned to one side and turned her head, spotting a few figures a little ways away in the darkness. Had they spotted her already- it kind of seemed like they were looking at her. And yes, there was definitely a guy, with two Pokemon. But it was getting kind of dark, and she couldn't quite make out their forms.
Lorelei squinted her eyes and leaned forward. One of them kind of looked like he had horns... but, no, wait. The horn-like things were mcuh too straight. That had to be an Elekid. What else could it be? The other still kind of seems like a blob. Too far away to see much. She started to stand up, when something smacked her on the head. The shock of it made her fling her head backwards, and it smacked against the tree she had been resting under. "Owwww." Lorelei moaned, rubbing her head. She had hit it really hard. Involuntary tears were welling up in her eyes in reaction to the pain. Her vision was really blurry... She moaned again, quieter this time. What the heck had hit her? She had been so preoccupied with the Pokemon that she hadn't noticed what the trainer had been doing.
(Its fine. :3)

The pokeball smacked against flesh, signaling that his toss had been successful. Yet to his disappointment, the sound wasn't followed by a bright light consuming any sort of pokemon. Instead, there was only a moan. Evan gulped. That sound was human.
"Oh shit, oh shit. I'm sorry. So sorry." He jogged toward the girl, apologizing nonstop. When he reached her, he finally quieted and knelt down, straining to see if she had been hurt. He barely caught the glimpse of tears in the darkness, and his rambling started again. "Oh no, don't cry. Are you okay? I thought you were a pokemon. You're not, though, obviously. Heh." He tried not to laugh, but his worried expression was quickly transforming. A little giggle escaped. "Goodness, I'm stupid."
His Elekid had been hiding behind Evan, but timidly stepped toward the girl, a bag of chips in his hands. He nervously held it out for her to take. She was kind of scary, but not nearly as scary as a strange pokemon in the darkness. And she was crying, too, that was no good. Arty tried to smile at her a little. "Ele.."

Suddenly things started happening really fast, and the dazed Lorelei couldn't quite keep up. The trio that she had been staring at suddenly came towards her, and the boy was rambling a bit at her. She couldn't quite catch the meaning. She blinked, tried to stand up, and then fell back down. "Um." Was all she could manage to get out. She started to understand what the strange, blabbering boy was saying.
"Cry? ...what?" Lorelei asked, confused. Why were they all staring at her? She reached up and touched the skin underneath her eyes, which were slightly wet. "I'm crying?" She was over her shock enough to feel embarrassed about crying in front of some strange guy. "Oops." She said, frantically wiping away the tears.
"I'm, uh, fine." She said, after she got most of the moisture off of her cheeks. Her throbbing head seemed to disagree with her statement. She wasn't sure that she could stand up without falling over again, so she thought it would be best if she just stayed on her ground.
Lorelei looked up at the boy as he giggled. His giggle kind of made her giggle- though hers was softer. "You mistook me for a Pokemon?" She asked, smiling with amusement. "That's a new one."
Then she transferred her gaze to the Elekid in front of her. She smiled back as the electric type smiled at her. "Hello." She said softly. The Elekid seemed worried, or scared, or something along those lines.
Then Lorelei looked back up at the boy. "I take it you're a student here, too?"
