oh, uh... uh, hi. um, i'm, my name is kristopher allen beckett, but feel free to call me kris. i'm currently eighteen and was born october fifteenth. i, uh, i'm a coordinating major. seeing as i was raised in a family or coordinators i should've expected this. unlike most of my family, i also enjoy battling pokemon, but coordinating was my calling. uh, um, this is my first year here at the academy, although people tend to think i'm a second or third year. it must be that i'm really tall, a little over six feet, but when they notice i have a baby face, they know i'm younger... um, but, i don't really want to talk about my sexual orientation. i mean, i see girls i find attractive, but i also see guys who i find attractive. i guess that would make me bisexual? i don't know... people sometime say i look like pearl from pokemon, but i don't see it. my style? oh, uh... i was raised to 'dress to impress' and attract the public's attention to me. however, i've been trying to ease up on the unusual outfits, but still try dressing in the most laid back yet stylish clothes i can find.

one of the first things you might notice about kristopher, besides his height and clothing, is his unusual quietness. throughout the hallways and classes, he is usually silent unless spoken to first or with a close friend. he was raised in a loud, outgoing family, his insecurities prevent him from being like all of the other members of the Beckett clan. his, however, is not the case when coordinating. he is as articulate as they come, but for some reason, he doesn't feel the same confidence in everyday life that he feels while coordinating. his insecurities also cause him too seem aloof, almost stuck up. he has admitted to trying to emotionally distance himself from others, in order to focus on his goal of being a master coordinator, but in all honestly, he's a sweet, loyal person. if someone takes the time to know him, they'll know he'll be by there side, as long as it doesn't interfere with his plans, goals, or morals. this wouldn't usually be a problem, seeing as he's open minded. unfortunately, his open mindedness does not apply to himself. he's afraid someone will judge him if they find out that he identifies with being bisexual, something he's recently come to terms with.

despite his friendly demeanor covered up by his shy 'shell', kristopher is very vain. no, he doesn't consider himself attractive in the least bit, but looks are extremely important to him when it comes to his pokemon. it's not that he hates the pokemon he considers ugly, but he thinks it'd be easier to achieve the dream of being a master coordinator with cute pokemon. this doesn't apply to other pokemon he's kept as pets or trained to battle.
kristopher also appears dedicated. once he has his goal set on something he'll do anything to make sure he achieves it, regardless of the consequences. if he wants a ghost pokemon, he'll attempt to confront his fear of the dark and go to the abandoned clock tower at night. this attitude has put his life and well-being a risk at times, thus showing the boy can be reckless.

kristopher's fear of the dark spawned from an encounter with a banette when he was seven years old. the pokemon was looking for it's previous owner, who had left the house that kris and his family recently moved into. thinking he was the owner, the Banette nearly attacked him, until his family's Purugly saved him. The attack caused kris to suffer from night terrors and insomnia until his sleeping patterns became fairly normal. although he's learned to conquer his sleeping issues, he still has a fear of the dark. kristopher also has a fear of failure or disappointing his parents and those close to him. his mother is a popular coordinator from the sinnoh, like her mother, and wanted kris to go to the pokemon academy to keeping the long line of successful coordinators going. he's felt this pressure since he was a child, grooming his mother's purugly and helping train her for the contest.
as for quirks, he has a tendency to zone in and out of conversations. not because he wasn't paying attention, but because his mind wanders fairly easily.
