txl: scared of the dark? {mod}

Well, Lorelei wasn't. But you know who was? Mack the Makuhita. Lorelei was quite surprised to discover this. Her Makuhita? The guy that always tried to act so tough? He was scared of the dark? Yup. Lorelei looked down at the pokeball in her hand. She had just returned Mack to it. But it wasn't as fun to wander around in the dark by herself...

So who else could Lorelei let out of their pokeball and spend time with? Jewel was a bit rambunctious, and Lorelei didn't really want to deal with that at the moment. That left Ellie. But Lorelei and Ellie had already done a lot of bonding. A lot of bonding. The two were so close, you could hardly fit a piece of paper between them.

So that brought her back to Jewel. But... Lorelei was reluctant to bring her out. She was so loud, and it was to quiet right now. She was so silly and rambunctious, and it was so peaceful right now.

Perhaps walking by herself wasn't so bad, after all.

A WILD STUNKY APPEARED !

oh it had been such a joyous day, and joyous day's never did come for this stunky. she had found food, played with another stunky, and avoided a mean ol' trainer all day. oh, how happy that did make her! usually by this time of day, the purple pokemon would have been battled and wore out. but at this time, not one measly human had approached her at all. maybe today was just her relaxing day, given to her by the other stunky's being chased by trainers.

so she scrambled along carelessly rather than in the cautious manner she usually roamed around in. but as she rounded a corner, she saw it. a female trainer. coming this way! oh no, oh what to do? well panicking she let off her smelly order. maybe that would draw the trainer away! after she let out her odor, the stunky scrambled behind a rock where she curled up into a ball to hide.

As soon as Lorelei saw the wild Stunky come along, rounding the corner of the path just a yard or so in front of her, she whipped out Jewel's pokeball and released the Spoink- just in time for the two of them to get sprayed by that awful Stunky spray-stuff. Lorelei caught the majority of it, since Jewel was still materializing when the Stunky sprayed, but Jewel definitely did get some of it as well.

And Jewel was not happy. Lorelei had never actually seen Jewel mad. As a matter of fact, she had never seen Jewel even the slightest bit of unhappy. Maybe that wasn't saying much, since she had only known Jewel for a few days, a week at the most... but, still! Jewel had only ever been happy and silly!

Bouncing in place, Jewel glared at the Stunky as it scuttled off to hide somewhere. She bounced around the area, looking for the culprit that had sprayed her and made her stinky. However, after a moment, the anger seemed to fade into curiosity. Where in the world was that little purple Pokemon hiding?

And then, Jewel found it! Hiding behind a rock. Suddenly, her anger returned. She let off a psyshock, and then another psyshock. Lorelei face-palmed when she saw what was going on. "Jewel, you're fighting a losing battle." She told her Spoink. "You're psychic move won't do anything to that Stunky." She added, pulling out the Spoink's pokeball and returning her.

'Jeez. Jewel really needs some training, but every time we get into a battling situation, she's never the right Pokemon for the job.'

"However, Mack could do some damage." Lorelei said- to herself, obviously- and pulled out Mack's pokeball. "Alright, Mack," She said, releasing the Makuhita, "Let's have you give it a shot!" Mack appeared in the usual flash of red light. He took note of where he was, then looked back at his trainer.

"Maaakuuu..." He said, slightly whining. 'Right... Mack's afraid of the dark...' Lorelei remembered. She sighed. "Mack, you're going to have to be brave, just long enough to defeat that Stunky. Okay? You can do it!"

Mack nodded slowly, and then smiled. Lorelei was right! He could do it! He was rough and tough, and all that good stuff! He looked over at the Stunky and smiled to show that there were no hard feelings. "Okay, Mack," came Lorelei's call, "start off with a simple sand attack!" Mack nodded, placed his palms on the ground, got a fistful of dirt, and then tossed it toward the Stunky.
