as the board title suggests. this is the updates board. all important things will be posted here. most of them will be activity checks, promos, of the month nominations and winners, and simple announcements we'd like to share. checking here often would be smart. threads might be hiding underneath that you wouldn't see at first glance. each thread will be labeled as "announcement type:" so you will know what's inside the thread beforehand.

if you need help with anything or feel like something should be explained to you in more depth, please don't hesitate to post your questions here. myself and the members will try our best to answer you in a timely manner. this is also the place to post any suggestions or complaints you may have. don't blatantly bash the site because i put hard work into this and it's highly disrespectful. constructive criticism, on the other hand, is welcomed.

here is where we store all the finished and accepted biographies. each membergroup is separated by sub-boards so you can easily find your character in one of the following: trainers, coordinators, breeders, or faculty members. obviously when it says "trainers" it's referring to the major type. remember, if you're a guest, it's recommended you peek through here to see what kind of standards we uphold.

this is the place where you stpre your pokemon team, items, and a wishlist. you may be asking yourself: why do i need to post a wishlits? well, that answer is simple. when you create a trading thread that entails all pokemon you wish to trade, people will tend to look through your character wishlist to see if they have anything to offer you. now, this is mandatory for all characters. a basic template has been provided for you to use.

my personal favorite board... ever. :] this is the place you'll come to plot your character's little heart out. when you start plotting something, don't just say: "oh, john and jane can be best friends" and then never actually have a thread with them. make enemies, friends, and lovers here. take up this board to ask for certain characters, too. guests are welcome to take a look around this board and ask politely to nab a character.

if you haven't already guessed it by now, this board is where all the schooling happens. each sub-board is that of a teacher's classroom. all majors will be separated, but on occasion, there will be joint classes to get topics across quicker. the halls are decorated in large murals of johto legendaries and portraits of all the previous headmasters and mistresses hang on the walls. currently, there are no major lectures going on.

used by all students, be it practicing an entrance or holding a public battle, the courtyard is the place to be. some teachers come here, too. to hold lectures or formulate lesson plans. there is an awning that stretches around the whole square with benches underneath them. there is a mosaic tiling on the courtyard with the school crest. benches and greenery surround a small fountain off to the side.

the marshlands appear spooky at first glance. the dark cedar trees dot the mud laden terrain. it comes to no surprise to anyone that this is a popular spot for dark-type pokemon such as poochyena and murkrow and even the occasional poison type. students have gone through the marshes without a scratch because, contrary to popular belief, most of the dark pokemon who call this habitat home are actually very welcoming and happy to greet visitors. they seldom get to interact with students and will remain peaceful and tolerant until a pokeball is thrown. all these pokemon evade capture and won't go down without a fight. if you don't attempt to catch them, they will be happy as a lark.

the largest habitat on campus has got to be the forest. trees of all sizes stretch out along the thriving landscape. there are clearing formed inside the trees that act as popular camping spots and, when the teachers see fit, outdoor classrooms. there isn't one person who ventures out into the forests and doesn't find anything they like about it. whether it's the ample opportunities to catch grass, electric and bug pokemon or the peaceful chattering of the forest's band of pidgeys, students will find something to keep both them and their pokemon entertained. the forests in the most populous habitat to catch pokemon in because it is home to various different types of pokemon.

this bit of terrain was instilled to expand the students' curiosity. the underground tunnels ultimately will lead to a spacious cave where fighting type pokemon have been known to train and live. scattered all among the tunnels are rock and steel types and a lot of zubats. navigating underground was at first frowned upon by the faculty members, and the tunnels were almost never built, but after some deliberation, it was allowed. and it turned out the be a hit with students. the pokemon that call this place home are not the friendliest pokemon around and will normally attack you at first sight. it is because they are so aggressive that students come here to look for pokemon to battle with.

the magma field is, as its name suggests, a large flattened plateau that is situated underneath a dormant volcano. despite the volcano posing no threat, there are numerous lava geysers that are very unpredictable. it is bustling with fire and ground pokemon, but hardly anyone goes there due to the danger and unbearable temperatures. these pokemon are very shy and not used to humans because of that factor. they express to desire to greet people whenever the occasional one ventures in, but will stop whatever they were doing beforehand to site and observe them. it may take a bit of coaxing for any of these pokemon to come and interact with you.

opposite the magma fields atop a high mountain lay the ice caps. they are at the peak but, despite the close proximity to sunlight; remain icy and cold all year long. as the name suggests, the place is home to the territory's largest array of ice pokemon. most of the pokemon are cheerful and happy to see anybody who braved the maintain, but other higher-leveled pokemon like dewgong or walrein are hostile and prefer that you don't come near them. the ice pokemon aren't very friendly to fire types, so it's best that you no bring such pokemon up on the mountain. most of them will happily interact with you if you offer them food or a game to play.

one of the spookier places on the ledom grounds is the abandoned clock tower. it is a large old clock that ran during the time of the great three legendaries of johto. the johto officials demanded that is remained on the property due to its historical significance, even though the monument is now only visited by the braver students. reason for that being: ghost and psychic types are hell bent on scaring the daylights out of anyone who enters the premises. they find that particular game funny and can only be stopped by force. they enjoy screwing with people so bad that they turn to battle and these tricksters don't ever back down from a challenge. unless you've got food.

you can put any icons or graphics here. icon dumps tend to be lifesavers, so there’s a thread in here for one. if you want to create a shop of sorts where you deal out requests, go right ahead. you don’t need my permission. and, while i personally avoid templates, i thought i’d create this board for you all to be able to store all of yours. don’t worry, guests can’t view anything posted here.

i’ve never been a huge fan of forum games, but i figure i’d see how you guys liked them. and, hey, it gives us all a break from roleplaying or talking in the chat box. anyone can create a game. same thing with the graphics request shops; you don’t need my permission to make one. all that i ask is that they are labeled ooc or ic. count to 100, for example, is a totally out of character type of game. hot or not: in character.

while this probably doesn’t need to be its own board, i put one here because i don’t want it these kinds of topics to clutter up the main out of character board. anyway, this is the place you’ll come to post sketches or poems that you’ve done that you’d like to share. maybe get a little critique on them or something. i can’t draw to save my life, but i may post a story here one of these days.
